Medica Group is the market leader in the provision of teleradiology services in the UK & Ireland. We are expanding internationally while diversifying our business, through our acquisition of Global Diagnostics and Global Vision in Ireland, and our recent purchase of RadMD in America.

Following the recent acquisition of our Irish business we are looking for an individual to join and be responsible for the operation and contract delivery of our Irish business. To continuously achieve our ambitious aims, we need to deliver our strategy and perform at our very best.

Working as the Head of Operations and reporting directly into our Managing Director of Ireland, you’ll help us do exactly that by being an inspirational leader, supporting sound strategic and operational management through your expert team. With a key focus on the business and commercial growth, you will lead the approach to delivery of excellent care through our services.

Who we are:

In Ireland, Medica (formerly Global Diagnostics Ireland) is an award-winning radiology services provider employing over 180 staff members. We deliver managed service solutions to over 50 clinical sites and have recently partnered with our 26th HSE site. We have direct access to patient services in Ultrasound, CT, DXA, MRI and X-Ray.

We are a clinically led, patient focused organisation with industry experts including radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, and ICT professionals. Our proven track record shows improvement in access for patients through the resolution of traditional radiology bottle necks and workflow inefficiencies, whilst providing bespoke solutions tailored to client needs.

As we continue to scale internationally this position could expand into senior operations oversight of our Diabetic Retinopathy Screening service which has over 16 screening sites and 46,000 patients+ per annum.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for clinical operations and contract delivery across all managed services, ensuring that financial and business targets are achieved.
  • Identify new clinical initiatives with existing and new customer base, supporting the Managing Director in associated commercial negotiations and implementing in partnership with operational, clinical and central support colleagues.
  • Supporting colleagues to ensure high standards of clinical governance and patient care are maintained, including adherence to external legal and regulatory requirements.
  • To develop and establish regular reports to monitor performance against targets and plans, ensuring that the Management Committee are regularly advised of progress.
  • Identify and innovate processes to improve clinical outcomes and performance.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the senior management team across Ireland by setting short- and long-term objectives, managing priorities and developing the performance level of managers across the group.
  • Clinician relationship management with a view to expansion of services (paediatrics, orthopaedics, MSK, Cardiology etc.)
  • HSE relationship management (HSE area managers)

Person specification:

  • Proven in-depth senior operational leadership skills working within or with the public or independent health sector, including experience of having worked in partnership with the HSE.
  • Experience of successful relationship management with senior clinical and managerial HSE/ Independent sector staff.
  • Ability to influence and implement change in a geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Strong operational understanding, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of both national and regional health sectors including current and future trends.
