Tara Fletcher

Ultrasound Services Manager

Tara graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University with a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and later completed a PgDip in Medical Ultrasound at the University of Hertfordshire.

With more than a decade of experience in diagnostic ultrasound, Tara held roles as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer in leading NHS Trusts, specialising in general medical, obstetrics, gynaecological, and paediatric ultrasound. During her time in the UK, Tara also worked as a Research Sonographer and contributed to a number of publications focused on integrating artificial intelligence and robotics to improve diagnostic accuracy in prenatal imaging.

Following this, Tara transitioned to Clinical Specialist positions in both the public and private sectors in Ireland. In these roles, she took on the responsibilities of an ultrasound lead and clinical educator, with a focus on clinical role extension and development for sonographers.

Tara’s journey with Medica (formerly known as Global Diagnostics Ireland) began in 2019 when she joined as a locum sonographer. In 2023, Tara became a permanent member of the staff, taking on the role of Ultrasound Services Manager. In this capacity, she leads various ultrasound clinics and sonographer services provided by Medica, catering to both public and private sectors across Ireland.
