For the second year running, the Medica Ireland team stepped into the kitchen at Ronald McDonald House, CHI Crumlin, to prepare comforting meals for families with children receiving hospital care. The initiative is part of the Cook for Families program, which provides parents with a much-needed break from the stress of daily cooking during an incredibly challenging time.
After last year’s rewarding experience, the team was eager to return and make a difference once again. From chopping and stirring to serving, everyone worked together to create a warm, home-style meal that brought a sense of normality to families staying close to their loved ones.
“It’s such a privilege to give back and see the smiles on parents’ faces when they can sit down and enjoy a meal together,” said Caroline Byrne, Managing Director at Medica Ireland. The day was filled with teamwork, positive energy, and conversations with families whose resilience and strength left a lasting impression.
The Ronald McDonald House continues to be a lifeline for families, offering accommodation and support to 20 families every night. Since opening in 2004, it has been “home” to over 5,000 families across Ireland, ensuring parents can remain close to their children during treatment.
A huge thank you to the Medica Ireland volunteers who made this day possible.
