We are delighted to share the results of our recent CHKS Accreditation Survey, which has delivered an exceptional outcome.
Outstanding performance
Over the course of the survey, 702 criteria were assessed, with 675 rated as fully met, resulting in an impressive 96.15% compliance score. Surveyors described the outcome as “amazing” and “brilliant”, recognising the consistently high standards demonstrated across our teams, clinics and services.
Achieving this level of performance across a diverse and geographically distributed organisation makes the result particularly significant.
Recognised strengths and commendations
The survey not only highlighted strong performance across clinical governance, audit, and patient safety, but also identified areas of exceptional practice. Medica Ireland has been recommended for two formal commendations:
- Incident reporting and shared learning framework – embedding learning and governance across clinics and support teams
- Deep Resolve MRI project in Carrickmines – a quality improvement initiative that has successfully reduced patient waiting times while maintaining patient safety, staff safety and strong governance
A culture that stands out
Beyond the metrics, surveyors repeatedly recognised something less tangible but equally important – our culture.
They highlighted the professionalism, openness and warmth of our people, noting how teams collaborate, share knowledge and demonstrate pride in the care and services we provide. This culture of teamwork and shared purpose is a defining strength of Medica Ireland.
Continuing to build on success
While this is a fantastic achievement, the survey also identified opportunities to further strengthen consistency, including:
- Embedding newer governance frameworks across the organisation
- Enhancing how documentation and evidence are presented and accessed
- Expanding assurance and testing activities
We are currently awaiting the full audit report and will continue to address these areas through our ongoing governance and quality improvement programmes.
A collective achievement
This result reflects the dedication, collaboration and commitment of our teams across every part of the organisation. From clinics and reporting teams to operations, technology and support services, this has been a truly collective effort.
Most importantly, it reinforces our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care and continually improving outcomes for patients.
